The Minnesota Child Support Division needs your input!
County child support agencies and Minnesota's Child Support Division help children get the support they deserve by working with parents, caregivers, employers, government agencies and other states. In 2023, Minnesota's child support program provided services to 292,245 parents and 206,649 children through nearly 1,400 county and state employees and collected $513.4 million.
Minnesota's child support program is completing a strategic framework to guide its direction over the next few years.
This input opportunity page is designed for:
Parents and caregivers receiving child support
Parents and caregivers paying child support
Community organizations working with parents or children in the child support program
Family law attorneys
Employers collecting income withholding for child support
People interested in child support, but who may not be involved in the program
Background
Between 2022 and 2023, the Child Support Division at the Minnesota Department of Human Services compiled feedback from more than 2,000 child support participants via survey and focus group, analyzed data generated from the program and local and national research. In early 2024, the division hired the Management Analysis Division to serve as a consultant to complete a framework to guide future work.
A draft Trends and Perspectives document captures themes and perspectives. This, along with feedback from participants like you and child support professionals is guiding the development of the plan.
Survey and location
Please take the survey below to provide input on a draft of the program's vision, mission and values and identify the biggest changes the program can make in the future. The survey, which is open until June 7, requires registration to participate.
